Sioux City - Todd Michael Hansel, 47, of Sioux City passed into the Lord’s house on May 17, 2013.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Todd was born in Sioux City on March 20, 1966, to Michael and Sharon (Hadley) Hansel. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and graduated from East High in 1984. He attended Westmar College for two years, then Iowa State before graduating from Morningside College with a teaching degree.
Todd played Morningside Little League, Senior League and Legion ball. He participated in football, basketball and baseball at East High. He worked at MCI and Gateway. He loved shopping, going to Vegas, spending time with his grandnephews and nieces, and his four cats.
Survivors include his mother, Sharon Hansel; father, Mike Hansel; sisters, Carrie (Scott) Beckwith and Becky (Skip) Jones; nephews, Adam (Dawn) Beckwith and Michael (Mandie Baker) Jones; grandnephews, Austin Prokop, Zephyr Beckwith, Kaesyn Whitehead and Easton Jones; and grandniece, Morrison Beckwith.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mike and Irene Hansel and Vaughn and Helen Hadley; his uncle, James Hadley; his aunt, Cindy Morthorst; and nephew, Christopher Jones.
