V. Pauline Barto (Green)

MOVILLE, Iowa -- V. Pauline Barto, 83, Kingsley, Iowa, formerly of Moville, died Friday, June 17, 2011, at Kingsley Nursing Home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Morningside Church of Christ in Sioux City, with Pastor Matt Wentz and Chaplain Mike Inman officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery at Moville. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.
Pauline was born Sept. 27, 1927, in Sioux City, the daughter of Paul E. and Gladys (Richards) Green. She lived in Sioux City, Moville and Correctionville, Iowa. She graduated from Correctionville High School in 1945.
On Dec. 11, 1953, she married Gene Barto in Cherokee, Iowa. Pauline worked at Zenith and Aalfs Manufacturing for nine years.
She was a member of Morningside Church of Christ. Pauline loved music. She sang at many weddings and funerals, and she also sang with her husband on the radio. She enjoyed rollerskating, ice skating, walking beans on her farm and she really enjoyed soap operas. The most important part of her life was her family; she always attended her children and grandchildren's sporting events or any activities that they were involved in. She and Gene moved to Char Mac Assisted Living in Lawton, Iowa, in 2001.
She is survived by her husband, Gene of Lawton; a daughter and her husband, Janine and Mike Washburn of Lawton; two sons and their wives, Jay and Crystal of Kingsley, and Jeffrey and Shellee of Moville; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Jayson.
