VerJean P. "Jeanie" Rush, 81, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Holy Spirit Nursing Home in Sioux City, IA.
A visitation will be 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Christy-Smith Funeral Home, Larkin Chapel, with a rosary at 4:00 pm. A Requiem Mass In The Extraordinary Form will be 10:00 am Monday, January 29, 2018, at the Cathedral of the Epiphany.
VerJean Phyllis "Jeanie" Hanson, the daughter of Myron and Lula (Munich) Hanson was born July 9, 1936, in Elk River, MN. She attended school in Bemidji, MN.
Jeanie was united in marriage with William “Bill” Rush at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church in Minneapolis, MN. She was employed as a word processor at Security and Toy Banks.
Jeanie was a member of Cathedral of the Epiphany Catholic Church in Sioux City.
Jeanie is survived by her husband, Bill of Sioux City; children, Kathryn Rush Munich of Big Lake, MN, Steven (Nanci) Rush of Savage, MN; a granddaughter, Dr. Kelly Cleaves of Portland, OR; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lloyd Hanson.
The family has requested that memorials be directed to the Holy Spirit Retirement Community Chapel Fund.
