CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa -- Vincent Andrew Beaubien, 63, of Correctionville passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital surrounded by his family.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville, Iowa, with the Rev. Mark Stoll officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Peters Cemetery, Jefferson, S.D. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Vincent was born Jan. 29, 1944, in Sioux City, the son of Laurence and Anna (Reinbold) Beaubien. He graduated from Jefferson (S.D.) High School in 1962.
He married Juanita Davis on Aug. 10, 1963, in Dakota City. The couple resided in Sioux City until moving to Correctionville in 1975. He drove truck for many years. He was currently employed with Woodbury County Secondary Road Maintenance out of Correctionville.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He also was a member of the CWA Local 7103 Union, where he held numerous positions, most currently as union steward.
He was a very giving person of his time, a devoted husband and a loving dad and grandpa. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His unselfish nature of helping others extended far beyond his family to include many friends and neighbors. He had a great love, which was strengthened by his faith, something he greatly cherished and passed on to his family. He will be truly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. He had given the gift of life by being an organ and tissue donor.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Juanita; a son, Bryan Beaubien of Correctionville; five daughters, Elaine Hansen, Jaimee Beaubien, Holly Beaubien Andrea and her husband, Dave Carroll and Angela and her husband, Tom Kayl, all of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Shey Swenson, Josey Carroll, Tristen Kayl and Beau Beaubien; a sister, Priscilla (Ray) Wilson; two brothers, Dave and Gary Beaubien; in-laws, Verna and William Kohn of Sioux City and Larry and Teena Davis of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister-in-law and her husband, Pam and Terry Shever of Correctionville; a brother-in-law and his wife, Gary and Michaela Davis of Omaha; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Anna Beaubien; and a sister-in-law, Janice Wright.
Pallbearers will be his children and eldest grandson.
