Viola "Faith" Brucker

Viola "Vi" Faith Brucker, 93, of Edina, Minn., formerly of Sioux City, our beloved mom, passed away Nov. 13, 2015, in Edina.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Vi was born on Jan. 14, 1922, in Sioux City, the youngest child of Ella and Thomas Faith. She graduated from Central High School in January 1939, and married Kenneth Brucker on Oct. 20, 1943, at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, S.D. They made their home in Sioux City except for 11 years when Ken's job took them to Mitchell, S.D.
From 1963 to 1978, Vi managed the women's and children's department at Bellas Hess. In 1980 she became manager of Peck and Peck at the Southern Hills Mall, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 48 years, where she served on the finance committee and volunteered in the church office.
In 2009, she moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where she spent the rest of her life nearer her children.
She leaves behind her two daughters and their husbands, Kenna Lee (Roger) Christians of La Crosse, Wis., and Teri (Gary) Ellsworth of Edina, Minn., a son and his wife, Fred (Teresa) Brucker of Louisburg, Kan.; three grandsons, Jeffrey (Lisa) Christians of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Jason Christians of Roseville, Minn., and David (Holly) Brucker of Olathe, Kan.; three great-grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Christians and Logan Brucker; and eight nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and two brothers.
The family wants to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Walker Methodist Care Center, Suite 6 in Edina, Minn., and Allina Hospice for their loving care of our mom.
