MOVILLE, Iowa -- Viola "Vi" Mae Allan, 82, of Moville died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Moville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ed Frank officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville. Vi was born June 19, 1928, at Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Oscar and Evelyn (Hisey) Wilder. She was raised in the Dayton and Blanchester, Ohio area. Vi graduated from Blanchester High School.
She married George Allan on Nov. 15, 1957, at Grace United Methodist Church in Blanchester. Together they lived in Ohio until 1964, when they moved to Iowa, settling in Moville in 1965. Vi was a bookkeeper for various businesses in Sioux City, retiring in 1990.
Vi was a member of the Moville United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women's Club, Moville Garden Club, TOPS and the Red Hat Society. She was in a card club, enjoyed reading and visiting with her friends. She loved her children and grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren were the apples of her eyes. Vi and great-granddaughter, Taylor share the same middle name, Mae. She was so proud of that.
Survivors include her husband, George Allan of Moville; two daughters and their husbands, Cynthia and Alan Pedersen of South Sioux City, and Terri and Jim Radig of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a son and his wife, Steve and Cathy Allan of Sioux City; grandchildren, Kristin Heithold and Eric and Becky Heithold, Jeff Allan, Lindsay Allan and fiance, Tim Green, Steven, Danny and Michael Radig; great-grandchildren Taylor Mae and Landon Danley; stepgrandchildren, Alan Jr. and Tammy Pedersen and children, Tiana and Abby; Wendy and Karl Albrecht and children, Samuel and David; Bruce Pedersen; Tricia and Josh Snyder and children, Kelsi, Andrew and Jaci; Stacie Butler and fiance, Eric Bishop; Carrie and Nick Wingert and child, Toby; a brother and his wife, Melvin and Marion Wilder of Blanchester, Ohio; a sister and her husband, Mildred and Vearl Fowler of Sunman, Ind.; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
