Virginia Malcom

September 15, 1925 — February 13, 2016

Virginia Malcom, 90, of Kingsley died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at her home.
Private services will be held. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.
Virginia was born on Sept. 15, 1925, in Correctionville, Iowa, the daughter of August and Clara (Kellar) Kabisch. She attended school and graduated from Correctionville High School in 1942.
Virginia married Walter Schultzen. They had 13 children. Walter died in July 1973. She married Alfred Malcom in March 1974 in Elk Point, S.D. They made their home in the Moville area. Virginia and Alfred moved to Sloan, Iowa, and managed the Lazy W Motel during the 1980s until they were wiped out by a tornado. They returned to Moville for several years before moving to Kingsley in 1997. Alfred died on March 22, 2011.
Virginia loved spending time with her family and Christmas. She enjoyed watching "Dancing with the Stars" and golf on TV. She also liked word find puzzles and fishing.
Survivors include 12 children, Danny (Connie) Schultzen of Moville, Beverly (Jim) Masters of Fromberg, Mont., Carol (Keith) Jensen of Billings, Mont., Connie (Robert) Cramer of Fairmont, Minn., Terry (Patricia) Schultzen of Bronson, Iowa, Jeanette (Larry) Lage of Whiting, Iowa, Brian (Ronette) Schultzen of Moville, Randy (Beverly) Schultzen of Lawton, Iowa, Kelvin (Rose) Schultzen of Moville, Betty Farmer (Jeff Mize) of Kingsley, Susan (Heath) Naberhaus of South Sioux City, Neb., and Joni Heck (Russ Musick) of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Karen (Bryan) Reynolds of Sioux City; 33 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Walter (Virginia) Kabisch of Moville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Walter and Alfred; son, Stephen; granddaughter, Rae Jean Schultzen; a great-grandson, Gabriel Clausen; two sisters, Opal Goehring and Kathryn Miller; and a brother, Robert Kabisch.
