Vivian Ionia Kamm, 95, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at a local nursing home, with her family at her bedside.
Abiding by her wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are with Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.
Vivian was born July 31, 1920, in Moville, Iowa, the daughter of Roland and Bertha Peters. She was raised in rural Moville and attended school there.
She married Kenneth Kamm on May 26, 1937, in Le Mars, Iowa. He preceded her in death.
They farmed in rural Moville, Climbing Hill and Smithland, Iowa, areas before moving to Sioux City in 1967. Vivian worked at Bishop's Cafeteria and IBP, and as a cook at Westwood Nursing Home.
Survivors include her son, Terrance (Jeanette) of Sioux City; two grandsons, Kevin Kamm of Omaha, and Kirk Kamm of Prior Lake, Minn.; two great-grandsons, James Kamm of Prior Lake and Steven Kamm of St. Cloud, Minn.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Roland "Ronny" Kamm; brothers, Gerald (Julia) Peters and Eugene (Nina) Peters; and sisters, Dorothy (Ralph) Thomas and Della Mae Conner.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Rosenkrans and staff, Dr. Wadinski and staff, Westwood Nursing and Rehab staff, Hospice of Siouxland staff, and to her special friends, Sam Thomas of Moville, Dorine Levine of Long Grove, Ill., Julie Hermann of Chandler, Ariz., and Willa Menker and Fama Forney, both of Sioux City.
