Vonnie Mae "Pat" Meuleveld, 84, of Sioux City died Friday, April 18, 2008, at a Sioux City nursing home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ken Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at the Berkemier Chapel of Christy-Smith Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be sent to

Vonnie was born on Sept. 21, 1923, in Martinsburg, Neb., the daughter of Dean and Agnes (Koeppe) Koeppe. She was raised in the Martinsburg and Ponca, Neb., area, attending school there. She moved to Sioux City in the late 1930s. She had worked a few years at Aalfs Manufacturing and Zenith Corporation and then several years as the bookkeeper for A-1 Van's Florist, retiring in 1985.
She married Jacob Meuleveld Jr. on Dec. 31, 1946, in Sioux City. He passed away on Aug. 8, 1999, in Sioux City.
She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, when first moving to Sioux City, and later transferred to Concordia Lutheran Church, where she remained active up to her death. Pat enjoyed working puzzle books and spending time with family and grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Mike) Van Maanen of Clarksville, Tenn., Kathy Mansfield and Rome of Omaha, and Susan (Donald) Vaughn of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Cindy Lara, Michael Van Maanen Jr., Greg Mansfield, Joey Mansfield, Chris Keleher and Julie Keleher; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dean Koeppe of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, and Robert (Myrna) Koeppe of North Sioux City; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Julia; and four sisters.
The family suggests memorials to Concordia Lutheran Church.
