Wanda Rae Schultz, 84, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. The Rev. David Koehler of Morningside Presbyterian will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Wanda was born on Aug. 29, 1930, in Madison, S.D., the daughter of Rolland and Helen (Bombeck) Cox Sr. She was raised in Madison and graduated from Madison High School. Wanda attended one year of college in Madison.
On Nov. 26, 1949, she married Elmer Schultz in Pipestone, Minn. The couple lived in Omaha, Seattle, Wash., Des Moines, Norfolk, Neb., and came to Sioux City around 1960. Wanda also attended N.B.T. Business School in Sioux City. She worked as a secretary for Retail Credit Co., Equifax Credit Co., and other credit services in Sioux City.
Wanda was an avid reader, loved working crossword puzzles, cooking, baking and playing games on her computer. What she loved most was spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Maxine Kroll of Salix, Iowa, and Glenda Schultz of Sioux City; her grandchildren, Erin Ruhland, Megan Schultz and Ryan Schultz; her six great-grandchildren, James, Austin, Ashley, Christina, Gabriella and A.J.; four great-great-grandsons; a sister, Shirley (Dick) Lovaas of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a special friend, Shirley Piper; sister-in-law, Gerry Cox; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; her son, Bruce; her brother, Rolland Cox Jr.; and her son-in-law, Loren Kroll.
