Services for Wanda J. Speck, 85, of Sioux City, Iowa will be 11:00 Monday, February 17, 2014 at Riverside United Methodist Church with Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 Sunday, with a 3:00 prayer service at Berkmier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Wanda died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at a local Nursing Home.
Wanda was born January 11, 1929 in Walthill, Nebraska the daughter of John and Elsie (Martin) Cornwell. As a young girl she moved with her family to Sioux City where she attended school and graduated from Central High School in 1947. Wanda married Gerald Speck on June 14, 1947 at First Methodist Church in Sioux City. Together they made their home in Sioux City. Gerald died December 16, 2011.
Wanda was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church and the Martha Circle. She loved family get-togethers and Sunday dinners. She also enjoyed cooking, bowling and gardening.

14 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; Son, Michael ‘Mick’ Speck; 2 Sisters, Opal Anderson and Bonnie Pojar; 2 Brothers, Bob Cornwell and Lonnie Cornwell.
