Warren D. Baird, 69, of rural Climbing Hill was taken from his family tragically in an automobile accident on March 11, 2008. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., Monday, at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with a Memorial Service to be held at 7 p.m.
Warren was born on November 3, 1938, to Wilbur and Emma (Zeglin) Baird. Warren grew up on a farm near Climbing Hill, Iowa. Warren Baird married his high school sweetheart, Ladean Gosch, on September 20, 1959, in Mapleton, Iowa. Warren and Ladean enjoyed going to the Black Hills every fall where they enjoyed camping. Warren loved to spend time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
Warren is survived by his wife, Ladean of 48 years; his daughter and husband, Beth and David Seggerman of Remsen and their children, Nicole and Justin; his son and wife, Douglas and Erin Baird of Climbing Hill and their daughter, Camrin; two sisters and their families, Virginia (Baird) and George Dunn of Redwood Falls, Mn. and Delores (Baird) Hummel of Moville; two brothers-in-law and wives, Wayne and Myrna Gosch of Mapleton and Gordon and Debra Gosch of New Castle, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents and his wife’s parents.
