Warren E. Baum, 94, of Sioux City passed away Friday, June 20, 2014, at a Sioux City nursing home
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. , at the funeral home.
Warren was born on May 28, 1920 , in Huron, S.D., the son of Fred J and Edith M. (Miller) Baum. He was raised in Huron and then worked in Mitchell , S.D. , and moved to Sioux City in 1973.
On Aug. 15, 1955 , he married Helen Lucille Malcom in Pipestone, Minn. While in Mitchell, he worked for Ross Laboratories for 12 years. Then in Sioux City , he worked for American Manufacturing for 10 years, retiring in 1983. Helen died on Jan. 21, 2001 .
He was a long time member of Church of the Nazarene. He belonged to the Siouxland Senior Center , enjoyed the outdoors and he truly loved people.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Lucille (Coil) Babcock of Sioux City; a sister, Ila Ramsel of Huron; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a stepson and his wife, Thomas and Mary Stading; his brother, Fred Baum Jr.; and his sister, Eve Belle Snetzer.
