Wayne Walter "Andy" Anderl

SIOUX CITY -- Wayne W. "Andy" Anderl, 93, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Don Botic officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. to service time Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Andy was born July 20, 1916, in Lincoln, Neb., the son of Walter James and Lazetta (Sanders) Anderl. He attended engineering college at the University of Nebraska. He married Adeline K. Hall on March 23, 1940, in Omaha. The couple lived in Sioux City for their entire married life. He was employed by Burroughs Corp. (now known as UNISYS) for nearly all of his career.

Andy was involved in many civic and fraternal organizations with very special interests in Rotary and various Masonic orders. He was a 70-year member of Morningside Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Adeline; a son, Jim and his wife, Jean of St. Paul, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, Ruth of Souderton, Pa.; three grandchildren, Father Peter Anderl, Sarah and her husband, Curt Grant and Carrie and her husband, Shaun McAdams; and four great-grandchildren, Luke, Noelle, Eva and Sophia Grant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Dick and Bill; a grandson, Andrew; and a great-grandson, Gabriel Grant.

The family suggests memorials to Morningside Presbyterian Church.
