Welda I. Sexton, 97, of Elk Point, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Prairie Estates in Elk Point.
Services will be noon Saturday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Welda was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Niobrara, Neb., to Dallas and Viola (Soulliere) Bradshaw.
She married Leonard Earl Sexton Sept. 16, 1936, in Elk Point. They spent their lives in South Dakota.
She enjoyed gardening, embroidering, crocheting, playing cards, dancing, going to the casino, traveling, camping, fishing and spending time with family.
Survivors include her son, Dallas (Shirley) Sexton of North Sioux City; four grandchildren, Timothy (Deb) Sexton of Sioux City, Tammy (Lindy Sr.) Pedersen of Sioux City, Tommy (Angie) Sexton of McCook Lake, S.D., and Trena (Jody) Hoffman of Elk Point; eight great-grandchildren, Andy Sexton, Nate Sexton, Tara Pedersen, Lindy Pedersen Jr., and Adam, Zach, Jared and Darrick Sexton; two great-great-grandchildren, Autumn and Aden Garza; and a sister, Violet Kruger of Elk Point.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Margaret Moriston; brother, Robert Bradshaw; and a great-granddaughter, Emily Hoffman.
