Willard "Bill" Gaul, 84, of Sioux City passed away Monday, May 5, 2008, at his residence.

Services were held Thursday, May 8, at Christy-Smith Funeral Home, Morningside Chapel. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.christysmith.com .

Willard Thomas Gaul was born Oct. 13, 1923, to Peter and Grace (Simmons) Gaul in Sioux City. Bill attended and graduated from Central High School with the class of 1941.

On May 7, 1965, Bill and Darlene Boyum were married in Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City. Bill was a television and radio repairman, operating out of his own home. He was also a professional musician, performing in New York and other states, retiring in 1975. In his younger days, he worked for Jones Distributing. He was also a ham radio operator.

Bill is survived by his wife, Darlene; daughters, Roxanne Gaul and significant other, Art Fenical of Sioux City, and Rhonda and husband, Doug Freeman of Linwood, Kan. He is also survived by grandchildren, Megan and Eric Thurber, Charles Gaul-Fenical and Brenden, Mikaela and Jack Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
