SIOUX CITY -- William "Bill" Green, 68, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Touchstone Living Center in Sioux City.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with Pastor Janice Bennett of Riverside United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. William Edward Green was born on Dec. 9, 1941, in Sioux City. He attended schools in Sioux City.
On Jan. 15, 1965, Bill and Frances were married in Sioux City. Frances passed away in March of 2006. Bill worked for Heyl Truck Lines for a number of years. He was a former member of Riverside United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, the Hawkeyes, hanging out with family and camping.
Bill is survived by a son, Scott and wife, Kathy Green of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; daughters, Tracey and husband, Rod Unruh of Sioux City, and Tami and husband, Dick McKinley of Washington State; grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Unruh and Bennett and Brooklyn Green; brothers, Mick and wife, Marian Green of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Lon and wife, Bev Green of North Sioux City; a sister, Sandy and husband, Gene Mulder of North Sioux City; his mother, Margaret Green of North Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Judy and husband, Rodney Lewison of Sioux City; and a brother-in-law, Roger and wife, Linda Groves of Hinton, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father; wife; and mother and father-in-law.
