William "Bruce" Wilson, 92, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at Northern Hills Assisted Living.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, with a 6 p.m. prayer service, with the Rev. Laurice Streyffeler officiating, at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Private family committal and memorial service will follow at a later date.
He was born Aug. 22, 1921, in Manhattan, Kan., to John and Ruth (Wolfenbarger) Wilson. Bruce served in the United States Air Force during World War II.
He married Elaine in 1944 in Sioux City. Bruce was an engineer for Northwest Railroad.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the United Transportation Union, the Air Force Association, the American Legion, and was also a Mason.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherol and William Stephens; sons, Dennis Wilson and Tim and Rettie Wilson; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Stokes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine; son, Paul; granddaughter, Patricia Lee; and brother, James.
Memorials can be designated to Hospice of Siouxland or Wesley United Methodist Church.
