William C. "Bill" Hogan, 82, of North Sioux City, passed away Sept. 8, 2016, at a local hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the North Sioux City Fire Hall, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Interment will be in McCook Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Bill was born July 10, 1934, in Stevens, S.D., to John and Lillian (Bennett) Hogan. He married Millie Trobaugh on July 13, 1959, in Minnesota. He served in the United States Army. Bill was a janitor at the McCook School, was employed at Concrete Pipe for 13 years, mowed lawns for the city, was Santa Claus for the City of North Sioux, was a Volunteer Fireman in North Sioux for 35 years, and drove school bus for 12. Bill was a first responder when Flight 232 occurred in 1989.
Bill raised three granddaughters and enjoyed camping at Little Sioux, WinnaVegas Wednesdays and attending his grandchildren’s events.
Survivors include his wife, Millie Hogan; daughter, Beck (Rick) Lasley; sons, Terry Frye, Rick (Sue) Frye, Tim (Betty) Hogan, and Todd (Rhonda) Hogan; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Isabelle and Ida; brothers, Jimmy, Johnny and Bob; and great-granddaughter, Courtney Frye.
