William Kluth Prichard

SIOUX CITY -- William K. Prichard, 83, of Sioux City died March 14, 2012 at Brentwood Good Samaritan Home in Le Mars, Iowa.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes in Sioux City. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
William was born July 21, 1928 at Price, Utah, the son of Roy and Linda Prichard. He grew up and attended school in Ekalaka, Mont. William entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.
He married Marlene Closson on Aug. 15, 1953 at Elk Point, S.D. Together they made their home in Sioux City. William worked for Tower Construction Company and later the Sioux City Fire Department for over 29 years, retiring as captain in 1983. Together William and Arlene owned and operated the Prichard Used Furniture Store for 10 years until they retired together. Marlene died June 6, 2008.
William loved spending time with family. He also enjoyed playing guitar, rummaging, crossword puzzles and hunting trips to Montana. He was one of the original pickers.
Survivors include two sons, William and Jane Prichard of Le Mars, Iowa, and Robert and Joanne of Blue Grass, Iowa; two daughters, Cindee and Craig Arnett of Sioux City. and Molly Aguirre of Salt Lake City, Utah; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ken J. Prichard of Riverside, Calif., and Ted Prichard of Sioux City; three sisters, Pat Jorgensen, Shirlee and Paul Bohlke and Terry and Jerry Hansen, all of Sioux City; father and mother-in-law, Sonny and Velma Closson of Sioux City; and sister-in-law, Nancy and Dick Pinney of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marlene; and siblings, Guy, June, Donny, Betty, Jean, Roy Jr. and Sherry.
