Omaha, NE – William E. “Bill” Utter, 97, formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at a retirement community in Omaha, NE.
A funeral service will be 10:00 am Monday, August 14, 2023, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at

William “Bill” Earl Utter, the son of Earl and Florence (Dillinger) Utter was born June 1, 1926, in Kewanee, IL. He came to Sioux City, IA when he was little. Bill had three sisters, Mildred, Dolores, and Opal, and one brother, Herman.
Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy when he was a young man. When he came back from WWII, he settled back in Sioux City. Bill worked at Swift Packing House with his brother, Herman.
Bill met Jetta Ray and they married April 24, 1948. From the packing house, he went to work for the Sioux City Road Department until his retirement. Bill and Jetta welcomed two children, Dennis and Sharon; five grandchildren, Carrie Utter, Danny Utter, Denise (Kevin) Fuller, Justin (Susie) McKay, and Ginger McKay; great-grandchildren, Tray Utter, Damien Utter, Destiny Utter, Bryan Millspaugh, Riley Utter, Hope Utter, Peyton Utter, Eli Utter, Kedra Heart, Lane Fuller, Bailey Fuller, Kobe Fuller, Jetta Utter; great-great-grandchildren, Delaney Utter, Ryker Millspaugh, Adley Millspaugh, Colson Millspaugh, and Xavier Utter; and many nieces and nephews.
He will be missed very much.
