BRONSON, Iowa -- William Fred Wingert, 91, of Bronson passed away Nov. 24, 2010, at his home in Bronson.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with Deacon Fred Karpuk officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to

William was born Sept. 4, 1919, at Bronson, Iowa, the son of Peter and Bertha (Kamm) Wingert. He grew up and attended school at Bronson.
William married Leila Turman on Aug. 6, 1942, at Ponca, Neb. Together they made their home in the Bronson area. William worked as a farmhand until he started farming on his own in 1952. He farmed in the area all his life.
William enjoyed going on fishing trips to Minnesota and going dancing. He also had a special place in his heart for his dogs, Tassy and Daisy.
Survivors include his wife, Leila of Bronson; three sons, Duane, Dwight and Cathie, all of Bronson, and Larry and Linda of Lawton, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Wingert of Moville, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Loren Wingert; two sisters, Pauline Christensen and Ruth Dawdy; and a brother, Carl Wingert.
