Sioux City - Winnie M. Lacy, 70, of Sioux City died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at a local hospital.
There will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes.
Winnie was born on Feb. 14, 1942, in Sheldon, Iowa. She grew up in Sheldon, graduating from Sheldon High School. Winnie continued her education at Morningside College in Sioux City and received her masters from the University of Iowa.
She was a professional musician. While playing in the symphony, she met the love of her life, Richard. Winnie and Richard Lacy were married in 1976 in Shreveport, La., where they made their home. Winnie played principal bassoonist with the symphony in Victoria, British Columbia, Tucson, Ariz., California, Italy, Ohio and Shreveport. Winnie and Richard moved to Sioux City in 1981.
Winnie enjoyed antiques and antiquing with her husband. They attended many shows and flea markets over the years. She was a loving mother.
Survivors include her husband, Richard of Sioux City; and a son, Rick Lacy of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
