Yvonne Joan Durston

Sioux City - Yvonne J. Durston, 77, of Sioux City died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.
Honoring her request, she was cremated. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville, Iowa.
Yvonne was born on April 14, 1935, in Moville, the daughter of Bert and Goldie (Kendall) VanLaningham. She grew up in Moville, graduating from Moville High School.
Yvonne married Arthur Durston on June 25, 1955. They made their home in Sioux City.
Yvonne loved spending time with her family, and taking care of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed being outside working in the yard and going to McDonald's with her friends.
Survivors include a son, Gary Durston and special friend of Sioux City; two daughters, Linda and Steve Cooper of Sioux City, and Kristi Rasmussen of Sioux City; three stepchildren; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Alice VanLaningham of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; and a brother, Cecil.
