JEFFERSON, S.D. -- Yvonne Theresa Gagner, 91, of Sioux City, formerly of Jefferson, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Sioux City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Jefferson, with the Rev. David Roehrich officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City. Yvonne was born Dec. 31, 1918, in Sioux City, the daughter of Louis and Virginia (Beaubien) Trudeau. she lived in Sioux City, Hot Springs, S.D., and moved to Jefferson in 1933. She graduated from Jefferson High School.
She married Clifford Gagner in 1943. He died on Jan. 19, 1964. She worked at Edler's Grocery, which later became Heaton Grocery and finally Jefferson Food Center. She also worked at Joe's Bar, which became Bud's Bar, until her retirement. After retiring, she worked as a seamstress at Marsha Ann County.
Yvonne was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Mother's Club. She had been a member of the Fireman's Auxiliary for more than 20 years. She was a seamstress. She loved gardening, flowers, fishing, playing cards and Tuesday morning coffee club.
Survivors include three children, Darrell and Janet Gagner of Diamond Bar, Calif., Judy and Jerry Campbell of Jefferson and Greg Gagner of Jefferson; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Betty and John Tucker of Spearfish, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Virginia Trudeau; an infant brother, Paul; a brother, Arthur; and her special companion, Roy Michaud.
